Samples for Teens

The Washington State Department of Labor and the University of Washington's Department of Environmental Health developed this pocket guide listing questions teens can ask employers regarding their safety on the job.

The California Department of Industrial Relations developed and distributed bookmarks to all California high schools. The bookmarks contain tips to help young workers -14 to 18- stay safe in the workplace are available. Common young worker occupations are highlighted:

  • food service
  • grocery/courtesy clerk
  • movie theater host
  • customer service
  • coffee host
  • construction
  • agriculture
